Confirmation
It is the policy of the Archdiocese of New Orleans to
confirm all candidates in their Junior Year of High School.
Before confirmation, students must attend at least 2 years
of catechetical training, of no less than 30 hours per year.
Also, a candidate should also enter into the life of the Church
through regular reception of the sacraments, as well entering
into the work of the Church through service hours.
We do respect the catechetical training that is provided in
our Catholic High Schools as appropriate; however, service
hours must be completed through the Parish, and cannot
be doubled up with school-required hours.
Finally, all candidates will be expected to attend 6 hours
of immediate preparation for the sacrament in the form
of a retreat, held closer to the date of Confirmation.
